All too much

I am not to sure where this post is going to go. I have a few things going on at the moment and feel like I am   not doing any of them justice.

I have signed up for Michelle Bridges 12WBT. It is great and there are a heap of tasks to complete before you actually start. So far there are 5 pre season tasks that have been released. They release one every few days in the lead up to the start of the round. I have been putting it off and I'm not sure if I am doing that because I am scared to fill them in or I am just being lazy. I have told myself I will do them once the kids are back at school and bugalugs is having her daytime sleep.

When I started this whole 'Becoming Nikki' thing it was to change not only my weight but my lifestyle and day to day life. I was going to keep the house in top shape, sort out the kids rooms, stay on top of the washing etc etc. But 3 weeks in and it feels like the old habits have crept back in. The couch is calling me more so then the broom and vacuum. The blogs, facebook & 12WBT forums are all far more interesting then dishes and washing. Although I did clean the ceiling fan in the kitchen which was LONG overdue. And the washing has been kept upto date and folded as it comes in.

I have also started back at work. Cleaning at the local primary school. There is a huge list of holiday cleaning to be done. Windows, skirting boards, cobwebs etc. My wonderful hubby has been helping me out which has been fantastic. I still have a few things to do before school starts on Monday and I am quickly running out of time to do them. The kids have been great they come in with me and I take their scooters or they play on the play equipment. But there is only so long kids want to be at school when it's holidays.

So I am trying to get back into it. I keep telling myself that once school goes back and we are into a routine it will be easier. Although then I will have to fit in 2 hours of work in the afternoon. I just need that kick up the butt to tell myself to get off the couch and do my jobs. Maybe I should make myself a rewards chart like the kids have and give myself gold stars when I complete a task. Once I have a certain number of stars I get a new pair of shoes or my hair done.

Anyway a bit of a post about nothing really but thought I would share whats happening or not happening as the case may be. On the up side I am still working out, although not as much as I should be. Bit nervous about weighing in this week.

  1. You know what Nikki, you are just like everyone else ( I think anyway! ) .. I have my list of things to do, how I'd like to be super organised for the year blah, blah, blah .. It doesn't always fall into place and I can assure you that my washing is rarely up to date! Nor is my place spotless as much as I would like it to be. Just don't be too hard on yourself .. like anything .. baby steps! Set yourself a goal for the week and get that done .. it feels great when you cross something off the list! X

  2. The shitty reality is that keeping fit never gets any easier. There is always something else pulling on your time or another reason why we'll "catch up tomorrow" Especially in your line of work (mumming it up). I found the trick is to make exercise your priority for a month. Bugger folding the washing and uber-house cleaning. Then once working out is part of your routine, work on incorporating the other tasks. After all, when you're 50, 60, 70 do you want to look back and think "geez I wish i'd kept the house cleaner" or "geez wish i was fit enough to do all the things I've now got time to do".

    Also, keep up the blog. Its fun to read. oh, and burpees are your friend.

    1. You are right! Of course. Awesome to hear that it never gets easier. Fingers crossed in a few weeks I will be looking back on this post thinking 'what was I so worried about?'

  3. Keep it up mate! Doing well. Better than all those who sit back and say I wish or I should've!

    Bobs great grandy is right (and good looking) make it a priority for a month so that it becomes a part of your routine. Sure the family can cope with a bit of dust for four weeks! If not, make them join in.... and do burpees with you!!!

    1. I don't know that I agree about the good looking part. I think Bob's grandy is MUCH better looking :) Thanks for taking the time to read and comment. Nice to know there is support from all parts of my life. :)

  4. All I can suggest Nikki as it has been said to me. Choose two things a day that need to be done.. Just two.. And make sure you do them. Write them down as the days job and then each day you know that you are getting a bit done. 365 days 730 jobs... Not bad.
