No Weigh In Until Christmas Eve............Can I do it???????

Seems that setting monthly goals doesn't really work all that well. Considering this month my goal was to be under 80kg and I am at 84.9! And I have tried the monthly squat & ab challenges. But not really EVER been successfully at any of it. 

So after last weeks dummy spit and various conversations including one tonight with one of my sisters. I am thinking of doing something pretty major and drastic!!! 

NO WEIGH IN UNTIL CHRISTMAS EVE. 

This may possibly kill me and it would mean having to remove the scales from my house. As I have confessed before I am a compulsive weigher. 

I guess I have nothing to lose. But I am worried as I have always used the scales to pull me back into line. 

I will make the decision in a few days. Just need to fully prepare myself. 

I mean what will I do every morning after I pee?!?! Or every night after my shower?!?! Or other random times through out the day?!?!

I am thinking of maybe doing a photo Monday. Since it is the silly season and we seem to have a function of some description every weekend. I will post a pic of me every Monday wearing my weekend outfit. So still staying accountable just in a different way.

Oh and I have picked Christmas Eve as Christmas morning I will be FAR too busy opening presents and sipping champagne to worry about standing on the scales!!!!!!

  1. Okay Nikki are we leading parallel lives? Quite honestly I do believe we are. I came back from overseas weighing less than when I left, but since being back (only a scant week and a bit I've gained 2 freaking kgs !!! I'm glad you are still posting, being accountable. Now the whole not weighing thing obviously worked okay for me being overseas (and being relatively active sightseeing overseas). It worked for Myriddian Shrinks (do you read her blog?) So it can work for you too. Just stay vigilant with the choices (easier said than done) but okay we've done it before, we can do it again right? I'm saying this as much as to talk myself into it too.

  2. By the way, what will you do every morning after you pee? Or every evening after your shower?

    How about down a big BIG glass of water in one sitting. As a new habit. Rather than the scales. Just a thought to put it out there.

  3. Hi Nikki! Good idea, after all, its about being a size 10/12 that you're chasing not a set of numbers on a box! And just because you're not stepping on the scales doesn't mean that you're no longer accountable for your diet, health and fitness!
    I stopped jumping on the scales a few months ago and had to find something to fill in the void - so I now do 60 jumping jacks, 15 pushups, 40 crunches 30 mountain climbers and a 30 second plank before every shower (saw it on pinterest - actually I've increased them all, but this is what it started out as), nice and simple and gets a sweat up but you don't mind cos you're about to jump in the shower. My sister does it with her kids every morning - they think its hilarious! So yes, takes much longer than jumping on the scales used to as the water warmed up, but I feel so much better about it. I also don't stress if I haven't managed to go for a run/walk/yoga/bike session as I'm getting a bit of exercise in as a matter of course.
    Its all about swapping out old habits with new fun ones. Goodluck
